AL-KARIM, The Most Generous

Today is the Wafat of Bibi Khadija and what better way to honor her then to talk about generosity.

Allah (SWT) in the Holy Quran says “Indeed, those who believe, do good, establish prayer, and give charity will receive their reward from their Lord, and there will be no fear for them, nor will they grieve.” (2:277) Isn’t it beautiful how important being genourous is in Islam? I feel it is  something we tend to put less emphasis on and only give when we want our name on a screen. Being generous is not all about giving money, it can also be donating your time or skills.

Our goal to grow closer to Allah (SWT) should be to embody the traits that He has and this is exactly what makes Bibi Khadija an amazing role model. Without any doubt, she donated all of her money Islam which helped spread the message to Arabia. Not only did Bibi Khadija give her money but she also gave her time to help spread the mission of Allah (SWT).

Side Note: Both of our (@hayyandco and @growingup.muslim) mom’s maiden names are Karim, and thus this beautiful name of Allah is held a bit closer in our hearts.

Today's Journal Prompts:

  1. How do you show generosity towards your community?
  2. What is one way you can be generous today?
  3. How does it make you feel after you have been generous to others?
  4. How can you follow in Bibi Khadija footsteps?
